| Longer description |
|
Katey's Quest is the first chapter of what will hopefully be a four part story. This isn't an excuse to re-use the same code to whip up some games, each one will have a completely new engine. Be totally new games, just following the same character and the basic gameplay (ie: Puzzle game)
Anyway, this first chapter revolves around our hero Katey and her introduction to the world of magic through the Magical Mirror. This world is filled with puzzles, and to get home Katey will have to collect shards of broken mirror doors to find her way home. It's very much based on Lode-runner, but with a magical theme to it... Katey can cast a few spells by collecting ingredients into a cauldron, there is a large variety of magical monsters for her to contend with and puzzles by the gallon.
- 100 levels
- Lots of puzzles, monsters and even bosses!
- Secrets to earn
- Magical!
- Create your own levels
- 5 themed words
- Lots of puzzle blocks and monsters
Music was created by Parsec Productions, who also helped with ideas and such.

Started out as a very simple sequal to Munchy, it quickly grew on it's own to be something much much better. This game wouldn't have been the same without Katey, there would have been no magic to it all! (heh) and no plot... the plot in the game may not be much, but it is going somewhere. I have the next three games at least briefly planned...
Anything that wasn't included that should have been? Yes, unfortunately.
Only two themes can be used in a level at once. This was because loading all themes at once caused slowdown... so it wasn't worth it, but I would have really liked to have been able to make levels with all the themes at once. I also originally planned to have more themes, but I can happily leave that for some expansion pack or another.
I was very happy to be able to include boss stages in this game. I love making bosses, haven't been able to make any since MMX: Wreckage, but now WHOOO 5 bosses :D
